One of Karl Lagerfeld's final architectural and interior design projects, this condominium suite serves as an exemplary representation of the brand's offerings. Combining a quiet, contemplative gallery with a luxurious living space, this demo apartment offers clients a glimpse into the potential comforts of their own home, infused with both subdued and exciting style overlooking the city.
Imported European high-end fixtures, a one-of-a-kind hand-painted love seat sofa chair by Cappellini PROUST, a Teckell crystal pool table, and sculptures adorn the space. The aluminum tile floor, inspired by Karl Lagerfeld's designs, adds a touch of elegance. The dining area features a 12-seat circular table illuminated by the striking Moooi Heracleum lighting fixture, with a vibrant red acrylic artwork by Hung YiChun mounted behind it. The master bedroom boasts museum-quality glassed-in, humidity-controlled wardrobes.
The model condominium spans a total area of 260m2 and includes three bedrooms, two of which are master suites, a living room, kitchen, dining room, bar, wrap-around balcony, and a servant quarters.
Upon entering the apartment, guests are greeted by a massive open space design, with a pool table serving as a divider between the living room and the dining area. The aluminum flooring casts reflections and shadows, creating a chiaroscuro play with the light, reminiscent of a summer sun dancing under a tree.
The demo apartment was completed in January 2020 in Taichung, Taiwan. The Karl Lagerfeld-designed stainless steel tiles that compose the main floor space were meticulously produced by an aluminum finishing factory, ensuring scratch resistance and consistent shape maintenance throughout thermal fluctuation.
Designing this demo apartment posed several challenges, including arranging the layout to achieve an open floor plan within an office building while avoiding the main support columns. Additionally, the space was designed to appear as an upper floor, despite its actual location on a lower floor. Light-colored cloth window dressings and blinds were strategically used to obscure the view while allowing natural light to filter through.
This model apartment is part of a collaborative project to bring a touch of Paris to Taiwan. With a Karl Lagerfeld-approved Chanel couture-inspired design, this demo embodies the possibilities of Lagerfeld-approved interior design and decoration. From the stunning art pieces to the dramatic elements and luxurious finishes, the space invites visitors to envision a life where every whim and desire is realized. The Karl Lagerfeld-designed aluminum flooring, FIAM Reverso Specchio mirror installation, and other works of art create striking visual effects that captivate the eye and ignite the imagination.
